| Get Ready for Some Daytime TV Man-on-Man Action |
[15 Nov 2009|02:56pm] |

While some soaps are currently facing backlash from viewers over their gay storylines, "One Life to Live" has been quietly continuing on its "journey" of telling the story of Kyle (Brett Claywell) and Oliver's (Scott Evans) relationship. Now, there's word that the ABC soap is going to take this pairing to the next logical destination -- the bedroom.
Since launching its first same-sex storyline earlier this year, "One Life to Live's" gay storyline has managed a relatively low profile among the non-soap viewing audience. There was no media blitz for the mass gay wedding the way that ABC had trumpeted the nuptials of "All My Children's" Bianca and Reese. Nor did anyone in the mainstream media seem to care that the legendary Dorian Lord would be marrying another a woman -- even if it was to try to win an election.
Still, fans of the Kyle Lewis and Olivier Fish romance -- affectionately dubbed "Kish" -- have remained stalwart supporters of the couple. Now comes word that fans will be rewarded for their loyalty: Advocate.com is reporting that "One Life to Live's" same-sex couple will have sex sometime before the end of the year.
"The show promises a happy gay New Year in Llanview," reports the companion web site to the nation's number one gay and lesbian news magazine.
In June, "One Life to Live" became the latest daytime drama series to explore a gay storyline. The show described the story as a "journey," while one of the actors involved in the plot has gone on to refer to it as a "love storyline."
Details on where and when Kyle and Fish will consummate their relationship are still under wraps.

| x factor worried about free votes |
[15 Nov 2009|07:08pm] |
|

X Factor producers are reportedly worried about a website which offers free phone votes for the show. Viewers can use the free2call.tv website to avoid paying premium rates for their votes. Instead, they listen to a 15-second advert when they place their call. Over 50,000 fans have reportedly used the service this year.
However, the Daily Mail claims that producers are worried that the service could lead to "possible fraud" because it does not have the security that the official voting lines do.
Fans from Ireland, who are not able to use the normal voting system, can support acts using the free2call service. Meanwhile, there are fears that betting syndicates could place multiple votes without broadcasters realising.
ITV has reportedly already held a meeting with Ofcom to discuss the website. Lawyers from the BBC and Channel 4 also attended because of worries that the problem could affect their shows.
Edward Boddington, chief executive of the firm that looks after the show's voting system, said that if free2call affected the show's outcome ITV may have to cancel the vote and refund viewers.
However, free2call owner Mark Hillman said: "We vote on X Factor just the same way that the public do. All we do is sit in the middle."
He added that the service complies with Ofcom and Phonepay Plus, although an Ofcom spokesperson said that it had not approved the service.
Meanwhile, an X Factor spokesperson claimed that less than 1% of votes were made through free2call and said checks were made to make sure the votes were routed into the correct X Factor numbers.
She added: "The integrity of our voting systems is of paramount importance and we are confident there has been no possibilty of free2call votes affecting the overall result."

| lindsay has a hissy fit |
[15 Nov 2009|01:06pm] |
Lindsay Lohan allegedly refused to pay two bottles of champagne from a Los Angeles bar. The troubled actress was reportedly furious when she was given a bill for her drinks at The Crown Bar and stunned onlookers with a tantrum when staff insisted she settled her tab for her evening. A source told America's People magazine: "Lindsay stormed into the kitchen and grabbed two bottles of really expensive champagne. She finished both bottles with a friend. When the bartender gave her a bill, she had a meltdown. "She was yelling at him and screaming profanities at everyone. The bar insisted she pay, so she had to call a friend with her credit card information." The star eventually left the nightspot at 2.30am - but was still in tears over the incident. The source added: "She was crying and wanted to go home. She kept saying 'I don't pay for drinks! This is ridiculous! I'm freaking out!' " Lindsay - who has previously undergone stints in a rehabilitation clinic for alcohol abuse - has caused increasing concern with her recent behaviour. Her father Michael Lohan has spoken out, saying he fears she will die if she doesn't get help for her problems. He said: "I want my daughter off prescription medication. She never needed it in her life... I'm not going to watch my daughter die. Hate me now, but you love me more later because I'm gonna turn her life around."

| Ashley got it wrong... |
[15 Nov 2009|06:58pm] |

Ashley Greene is a Beso Beauty Ashley Greene is a cheery mood as she leaves Beso restaurant in West Hollywood after dining with her family on Saturday night (November 14). Carrying a bright yellow bag, the 22-year-old actress looked hot in a pair of snakeskin peep-toe heels. Ashley recently caught up with Moviefone and dished on how grateful she was to the fans of The Twilight Saga. She shared, “You’ve got all of these fans who love and adore what you’re creating, and because of what you have portrayed, they love you and they support you too; it’s kind of incredible. You never know — they could’ve hated me, and then I’d have had to say, ‘Well, you’re stuck with me for three years!’ So I was lucky enough for them to really embrace me.”
Yeah well, Ashley, some people simply don't get the part with the three years... SOURCE

| Superbowl halftime show announced |
[15 Nov 2009|12:48pm] |
The wardrobe malfunction of 2004 changed the face of the halftime shows at the Super Bowl. Since the scandal, we have had Paul McCartney, Rolling Stones, Prince, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, and last year, Bruce Springsteen performed at halftime. For the past five years, Don Mischer Productions and White Cherry Entertainment have brought you millions of football viewers entertaining showcases, however they were all somewhat safe.
2009 has been a great year for music; Taylor Swift topped the charts, Lady Gaga stole the scene, Jay-Z gave us heart, and Beyonce shoot her money marker for all the single ladies out there. With a plethora of amazing musicians to pick from to perform at Super Bowl XLIV, fans were a little shocked to hear who was announced on Friday as the featured performers.
Without further ado, we announce The Who as the halftime act for Rock Super Bowl XLIV live from Dolphin Stadium in Miami. Easily one of the top ten most successful bands throughout time, selling over 100 million records and producing multiple platinum records. The band that began jamming for over forty-five years surprisingly has never played the Super Bowl until now.

The verdict on this decision is split right down the center; the older crowds are lovin' it while the younger crowds are crying foul. While many think that picking The Who (Band) is safe, The Rocker band has done some pretty crazy and outrageous things in their time. Once, they nailed all their hotel furniture to the ceiling and even wilder they drove a car into a swimming pool from the second story of a hotel. So it is anyone's guess what the band will do, but we will all be watching. So what do you think about the pick; were you looking for more of a Taylor Swift pick or are you happy with The Who?

LOS ANGELES - HOLLYWOOD presented its first Oscars of the awards season late Saturday, honouring screen acting legend Lauren Bacall with a statuette for her life's work in film. 'I can't believe it!' Bacall gushed, as she was awarded the Governor's Award at a ceremony that offered a foretaste of Oscar glitter and glamour.
